After lunch, Tina began to wonder if she would be able to resume marching uphill. They had walked a long way already. With food in her stomach and the warm sun shining down on the barren stone, an afternoon nap seemed like an acceptable course of action. Tina suspected, however, that Uncle Marvin had other plans. "How much further do we have to go?" she asked.

"That's a good question!" Uncle Marvin snickered. "Up to now, the clues have just been a list of compass readings. By following the needle of my compass, I got us to this picnic area. From here on, though, the clues get a bit mysterious."

Tina's eyes grew wide. "Mysterious? What do the clues say?"

"Well, it says here that the letterbox is under the chin of the giant turtle who lives halfway between the rocky knoll and the crying stone." Uncle Marvin examined his clue sheets closely, as if he hoped to find additional clues somewhere on the page in tiny print. Then he smiled.

"I certainly hope we don't have to disturb any giant turtles to find this hidden treasure!"

Tina giggled. "It sounds like a riddle. What do you suppose it means?"

Uncle Marvin shrugged his shoulders. "I was hoping you would tell me. I got us this far. Do you have any idea where we should go next?"

"Well, there are no new paths here," Tina observed. "So I guess we can either continue the way we were going or turn back the way we came."
