Eaton Road

From route 74 in Tolland take route 30 North. Turn left onto Eaton Road. Watch on the right for Shafran Conservation Area 104 Eaton Road.
Please bring blue ink with you.
Walk around the gate to the sign board. Go left on the orange trail walking on a bed of pine needles, very soft. Cross a couple of bridges and at the intersection of the yellow trail, go left. You’ll be following the brook for awhile and soon after you turn away from it, watch on the right for an eight foot stump with a crooked Y tree on the right. At that point look left off trail 50 feet for a large pine tree with log at it’s base. This log is actually a branch that fell. Looking up the tree you can see where it used to be. The marvelous Maine letterbox by mudflinginfools is tucked behind the end of the branch near the tree.
